How Jelan Clinic Works With Patients Travelling From Australia

Who we are, what our role is, what our specialised medical team decides, and exactly what happens from your first message in Australia to your follow-up after you return home.

IN SHORT

What does Jelan Clinic do for a patient in Australia?

We coordinate. You send your photographs and medical history from Australia, we prepare your file, the doctor assesses your case and makes every medical decision, you receive a written plan before committing to anything, and we arrange the journey and keep the follow-up channel open after you return home.

Who we are

We are a clinic in Istanbul

Jelan Clinic is based in Istanbul, Türkiye. We coordinate medical assessment and treatment arrangements for patients who travel to us — including a significant number of patients from Australia.

What we are responsible for

We are responsible for coordination: arranging your assessment, organising your travel and accommodation, arranging interpreting, and maintaining the follow-up channel after you return home.

What we are not responsible for

We do not make medical decisions. Our specialised medical team assesses your case, decides whether a procedure is suitable for you, decides which technique is appropriate, and decides when you are fit to travel home. That boundary is deliberate, and it protects you.

What happens, step by step

1. You message us from Australia

You send your photographs and your medical history through WhatsApp. This takes a few minutes and commits you to nothing.

2. We prepare your file for our specialised medical team

We organise what you have sent into a complete file — photographs, history, medication, previous procedures — so our specialised medical team reviews a full picture rather than a partial one.

3. Our specialised medical team reviews your case

Our specialised medical team reviews your file and provides the medical assessment: whether the procedure is suitable for you, what can be achieved, and what cannot. This is our specialised medical team’s assessment, not ours.

4. You receive a written plan

We send you a written plan setting out what the programme includes and what it does not, with the expected length of stay. You read it before you commit to anything.

5. You decide — with time

Nothing is booked until you have the written plan and have had your questions answered. There is no deadline attached to your decision.

6. We arrange the journey

Once you decide, we arrange airport reception, transfers between the airport, hotel and hospital, hotel accommodation and interpreting in line with the agreed programme.

7. Your appointment and procedure

You meet our specialised medical team in person for the final consultation and any required tests, and the procedure takes place in an equipped hospital as our specialised medical team directs.

8. Follow-up continues after you fly home

The follow-up channel stays open after you return to Australia, with reviews arranged as our specialised medical team directs — including across the time difference.

How we work

Our specialised medical team decides, always

Every medical question — suitability, technique, medication, timing, fitness to fly — is answered by our specialised medical team for your specific case. We do not answer those questions, and we do not guess at them.

Written before verbal

We put the arrangement in writing before you commit. If something matters to your decision, it should be on paper, not in a phone call.

We tell you what we do not do

We do not offer discounts or inducements, we do not promise outcomes, and we do not present overseas treatment as risk-free — because no surgical procedure anywhere is. We would rather you decided with a clear picture.

No pressure, ever

You will not be given a deadline to decide, and you will not be chased. If you need weeks, take weeks.

One channel, one file

Your coordination stays in one channel so your history, photographs and plan stay together and nothing has to be repeated.

Urgent matters reach a person

If you have an urgent concern after your procedure, it is directed to a person immediately rather than left in a queue.

Frequently asked questions

Who will I actually be speaking to?

A member of our coordination team. They arrange your journey and prepare your file. Medical questions are passed to our specialised medical team and answered by our specialised medical team.

Can I speak to our specialised medical team before travelling?

Your case is reviewed by our specialised medical team before you travel, and the assessment comes from that review. Ask the team how a direct conversation can be arranged for your case.

How long does the assessment take?

Timing depends on your case and on how complete your file is. Send your photographs and history together and the review can begin without delay.

Do I have to decide quickly?

No. There is no deadline. You receive the written plan and take the time you need — that is deliberate on our part.

What if I decide not to proceed?

Then you do not proceed, and that is a perfectly reasonable outcome. Nothing is booked before you decide, so there is nothing to undo.

How does follow-up work once I am back in Australia?

The channel stays open after you return home, and reviews are arranged as our specialised medical team directs — including across the time difference between Australia and Türkiye.

Do you offer discounts for patients from Australia?

No. We do not offer inducements or discounts, and we do not present them as a reason to choose us. Decisions about surgery should rest on the medical picture, not on an offer.

What languages can I use?

Arabic, English and Turkish. Interpreting is part of the programme where it is needed.
